Last week I was excited to change the look of Chris Ng, a client of ours with hair down to her waist. I asked her if she would mind donating the cut hair to a non-profit organization called Locks of Love. Ms Ng allowed us to cut 12 inches from her hair which was placed in a ponytail and mailed in a plastic bag to the company. I have to say this was an extremely emotional feeling one I have not felt in a long time.

Locks of love provides hair pieces to financially disadvantage children in the US and Canada suffering from long term medical hair loss due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. Cancer constitutes the second highest percentage of their hair recipients. These hairpieces will provide a sense of self confidence and normalcy to the children suffering from the illnesses associated with hair loss.
