Do it yourself! Natural Beauty by Debbie

In researching natural remedies for healthy hair, I found this article in Self Magazine. I tried it on myself and I loved the results. Hope you will too.

Healthy hair with banana

Ingredients Beauty benefits Instructions
1/2 banana Bananas are rich in potassium, an ingredient that temporarily fills gaps in hair’s cuticle, so strands feel smooth. Vitamins B5, A, E and C in the fruit preserve hair’s natural elasticity, lessening breakage and split ends over time, Dr. Graf says. In a blender, whip the banana and yogurt until they have a smoothie like texture (about 45 seconds). Work the mask into wet hair, wrap a wet towel around your head and let the mask soak in for 10 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and style.
1/4 cup

plain yogurt

The lactic acid in yogurt helps maintain your hair and scalp’s pH balance, so they stay moisturized and shiny naturally; fatty acids coat and soften hair, says Cygalle Dias, founder of Cygalle Healing Spa in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic.
Tester tip Opt for regular yogurt, not lowfat, because it has a thicker consistency that won’t slide off wet hair. Add a few drops of vanilla or lavender essential oil to de-stress while you wait.
In a hurry!!!! Instead of doing it yourself, we recommend Davines’s “ Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle” This cream repairing conditioner is perfect for extremely dehydrated and stressed hair. This product contains rice proteins, avocado plus seaweed to nourish and moisturize hair in depth.

Life Ball 2010 by Jeanise Aviles

The Life Ball is a glamorous and fascinating festivity. The primary aim of the Life Ball is to generate large amounts of donations, being able to fight the incurable immunodeficiency HIV and AIDS – national and international. Life Ball unites the Viennese ball tradition with opulence, extravagance, glamour, provocation, fancy performances, committed speeches as well as emotional moments.
I was so lucky to have had the opportunity to fly to Vienna and be a part of Hair Pioneer Danilo Dixon’s hair team. Danilo is the creative force behind many major aesthetic shifts in pop culture from haute coture to multi-million dollar advertising campaigns. He has created looks for major television hits, award winning movies, music videos, advertising campaigns and fashion runways from NY to Milan to Tokyo.

I have only been in this industry for six years and feel so thankful to have worked along side quite a few amazing hair icons. One of the things I have noticed about all of the hair stylists, hair cutters, and colorists that inspire me and that I adore is that they all have calm, soothing personalities and they are super passionate about what they create. They are all soft and gentle doing what they believe in and share their way of achieving a look with ease. I do my best to maintain a clear and open mind in order to grow and allow beauty and creativity to flow.

The feeling I had doing three of my most favorite things to do in life is inexplainable! To do hair, dance and create a character through costume in a Palace in Vienna! Felt like a dream come true.

Easy Updo to Beat the Heat by Anna Bollozos

Start by styling hair in its natural form.  Before drying your hair, you might want to use some products depending on the type of hair you have.  If you have curly hair, use the Momo anti frizz serum to add some shine and minimize frizz.  For straight fine hair, use Davines defining spray to give hair some texture.  To dry hair, flip hair over into a loose bun, hold the bun with your hand then blowdry all around the head till dry.  Let go of the bun and this will give you a tossled, beach wave look.

Part hair in the middle, then start grabbing one side of hair with your fingers softly towards the mid back of your head.  Secure with bobby pins.  Do the same on the other side.  Make sure to let any short pieces in the front and side to fall naturally around your face frame.  For the remaining of the hair in the back, twist it into a loose bun then secure with a bobby pin.  Finish the style off by using the Davines Defining glam power spray.  Remember, two or three sprays should be enough.  Now your ready to strut the streets, the park or at the beach!

How To Style Curly Hair For Maximum Shine by Arleen Quinones

Scrunch

What is essential for shine is a frizz-free surface. My favorite product to control frizz is vegetarian miracle by Davines. Apply a nickel size blob of conditioner to your hair. Use a wide toothcomb to make sure product is throughout the hair, and proceed to scrunch hair with your fingers. Be careful not to tug at your curls.

Diffuse

For shine, you really need a blow dryer with an attachment called a diffuser. Apply product to hair making sure product is combed throughout the hair; tilt your head to the side, releasing the roots from the scalp so that it doesn’t dry flat. Blow-dry on highest setting. Remember to keep the heat going down the hair shaft as to polish the hair. Hold the dryer under your hair, cup the ends in your hand and gently lift as you dry.

Shape

To help hair reflect more light, seal the cuticle with a curling iron. Mist each section of hair with a heat protecting spray, and wrap it around a closed three quarter inch ceramic iron. Finish with a glossing spray.
