Making the Transition Easier by Arlene Quinones I LOVE HAIR

As summer begins to wind down, some of us might have a vision of longer locks for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons.  Depending on your hair texture, there are a variety of ways to go about growing out your hair.  For all hair types, I suggest getting your ends trimmed every eleven to twelve weeks in order to keep hair looking healthy and tidy during this tedious process.

There are also numerous styling aids that can help you achieve a more contemporary look.  Gels, mousses and pomades are very helpful for controlling and sculpting hair.  I’ve been growing my hair from a short crop and have been controlling my curls with equal parts Davines pomade #13 and Davines Invisible Paste.  This keeps my hair shiny and in control.  For finer hair, apply mousse or light gel near the roots of the hair to create volume.

Hair accessories can also help to create a more stylish, polished look.  Headbands, hairclips and hair combs can be used to sweep hair into more desirable positions during the awkward stages of hair growth. I recommend checking out the online sites for Barney’s and Henri Bendel’s to find beautiful hair accessories.  Proper use of styling products and accessories can make the transition from short to long hair practically painless. Enjoy!
