MOD it OUT … by Payton … I LOVE HAIR!!!!

This spring we ill be taking a trip back to the 60’s.  The mod 60’s that is.  Fashion will revisit those bold black and white geometric lines, which these days can compliment any figure, when done correctly.

Depending on your body shape you can do a little or a lot.  Either to give the elusion of giving you length or to soften any unflattering curves.

We also see this done with color blocking, just in keeping with the black & white theme of things along with some asymmetrical shapes as well.  So don’t be afraid of those exciting lines and shapes.  The 60’s where all about liberating yourself.  So liberate this spring and make you hair style a complimentary part of your look.

New Year, New You, New HAIR … by Roger Garcia .. I LOVE HAIR!!!!!

Picture 2
Its only been a couple of weeks into the new year and already I have been victim to many resolutions.  But out of all these wonderful little promises I have yet to hear that someone is going to try and be a little bit more considerate of their HAIR!!!
Hair is just as important as any of other features.  Yet we often purpose to lose a couple of extra pounds, but never purpose to try and condition more often.
In theory the healthier we are, the better our skin nails and even hair will appear.  But what about the already dried aged limp hair, that exists on our beautiful little heads.
Should we just take clippers out and be done with the misery?  I purpose a gentler approach.  At home treatments!
For a while at home conditioning treatments haven’t really been as effective for lack of a dome dryer.  But now with all of this fabulous technology and formulation by the Schwarzkopf team, you too can hydrate on your own at home.
There are 5 treatments to choose from and each cater to specific needs.  If your nervous about any type of application just ask for it as an add on your next visit.    These treatments are so effective that you’ll see and feel the results immediately.

Violets in January By Kelly Rowe I LOVE HAIR!!!!

Picture 1January is a great month to try something different with your hair, it’s a New Year and its a great time to spice up your look.

In the winter a lot of people deepen the color of their hair or cool the tone, a great way to add change is to the use the super hot color of violet. Violet is not only wearable on almost any hair color it can totally change your look to be more romantic, edgy, or mysterious all depending on how you make it suit your style. Great ways to utilize this color is as accent pieces in different variations of violet to play up your current haircut, you can totally reinvent the style without having to cut it again. Another great way to use violet is by taking the ever so popular ombré trend and using violet tone other than the more usual blondes or reds. Violets go great with cool toned hair, and can make great contrasting pieces in warmer hair to really stand out.

Your style totally dictates how you want to embrace this bold trend. Layers can be accented by differing tones of violets, geometric and futuristic cuts can come alive with bold punchy pieces of purple, curls and waves can turn into cascading wintery and icy pieces, and soft long hair can be given a romantic twist with more subtle tones. There are some great options for those that aren’t ready to commit to such a vibrant color on a more permanent level, like trying and testing different shades using a product like hair chalk or soft pastels. These are great choices who want to try new trends and just have a temporary wash-out change. How you decide to approach this trend is totally up to you, but it is a definite hot style to try now in January.

Some things to remember these styles can take a little bit of maintenance so make us you are using color safe shampoos and conditioners, and to follow any advice given to you by your stylist!

Hot Styling Tips for Staying Warm This Winter by Lola Lorraine … I LOVE HAIR!!!!

NYC Winter Hair Conundrum: How can Glam Gals maintain gorgeous styles all winter long without catching cold??? These style-savvy tips, make the solution as simple as 1, 2, 3!!!!

1)   The first key to success is the right product regimen! Just like our skin, hair requires more moisture during winter months, because there’s more static electricity & less humidity in the air. Radiator heat also has dehydrating effects, which can leave hair dry and tangle-prone. I recommend Schwarzkopf’s BC OIL POTION, which comes in 2 textures: Light & Heavy.  Both products are wonderfully versatile, because they can be liberally scrunched into wet hair, or used in smaller amounts as a finishing serum. I personally adore the “Light” BC OIL POTION, because it’s never greasy or overburdening, even on very fine textures.

Whereas long tresses need extra moisture to soothe and smoothe snarled ends, hat-head can lead to flat-head, as well as oily roots…Ugggh!!! Not to mention, that washing every day requires blow-drying every day, because it’s not healthy to freeze outside with wet hair! I suggest REFRESH DUST, By Schwarzkopf OSIS, a light-weight, spray-in dry shampoo. Because, it builds volume and texture, in addition to absorbing oil.  (With REFRESH DUST, I can easily get a 2nd and even 3rd day of Rockin’ style before I shampoo the Doo anew. And it really seems to brighten up my blond too, an added bonus!!!)

2)   The next tip I learned from my little Ol’ Granny. (Because, back in the day, when wet sets  and rollers were in, women knew how to make their styles last for DAYS!) I start out by applying a volumizing serum called BODY ME by OSIS, before blowdrying my upside-down head to achieve root-lift. This can be done quickly and with fingers, but make sure hair is completely dry. Then, with a large-barrel curling iron, curl the whole head and clip the uplifted curls into place. Finally, with the style set in, I can put on a kerchief or scarf and hood. When I get to where I’m goin’, I just shake the curls loose and enjoy my beautiful waves….Voila!!!

3)   And finally, for mornings so bitter cold that it’s impossible to venture forth sans hat, I recommend another classic technique: THE PINCURL.  After blow-drying, simply divide head into big sections, & swirl the hair into large pincurls. (The effect is meant to be soft and sexy, so they don’t have to be too neat or tight. Just make sure that hair is sweeping away from the face  – think Farrah Fawcett formations!) Once you’ve clipped your curls in place, you can put your knit cap on over everything. (the hat will actually help set the hair and keep the waves in place. When the hat and clips are removed, the hair will fall in soft, sexy touseled waves, instead of ugly, flat hat-head!  So Fabulous!!!!!BC_Oil_Miracle_Range_01Picture 8Picture 9
