After working for a corporation for ten years, I felt I was missing out on the fundamental reason I had become a stylist, and I needed to start enjoying the quality of work I was producing. I sought out an environment with an energy that was in tune with mine – a place where people are celebrated for their talent and ability to think outside the box. I needed a place where I would be happy and look forward to my daily interactions with clients and coworkers. I found this place in Cristiano Cora Studio and I am so pleased to call this salon my new styling home. I love hair.

Cristiano Cora recently participated in a Davines hair show in Los Angeles. This was such a fun event to take part in and you can now see photos from the show in BE! Magazine in the BE-15 issue. With cuts by Cristiano Cora and color by Christina Dominelli, these styles were vivid and spectacular. I LOVE HAIR!
I recently started working for Cristiano Cora Studio after working for Vidal Sassoon for five years. Although it has been an adjustment working in a new location, it has been a welcome and pleasant adjustment for the best. I know this move to Cristiano Cora will bring great opportunities for personal growth and success, and I am already receiving positive feedback from my clients who love the new location. The Cristiano Cora team has made this transition even easier by being welcoming and helpful; additionally, several other former Sassoon employees have also recently begun working at Cristiano Cora, so I get to continue to work with some of my closest friends. Change can be intimidating, but this life change has been a fabulous upward move for me. I love hair.
Former Vidal Sassoon Creative Director, Thea Derecola, Joins Cristiano Cora Studio. Why I love hair:
Thea Derecola, the former creative director at Sassoon Salon, has just joined the Cristiano Cora team! We are so excited to welcome this amazing talent to our fabulous team. When asked why she loves hair, Thea responded, “Hair is the ultimate accessory. Hair is a medium of self-expression, that I get to collaborate individually with my client. It’s like a commissioned art piece.” Indeed, Thea Derecola is a very talented artist, and a great asset to the hair team here at Cristiano Cora Studio. Thea’s incredible expertise, coupled with her fun and gregarious personality, ensure that the client will have a wonderful experience with her. Welcome, Thea! I love hair.

As summer begins to wind down, some of us might have a vision of longer locks for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons. Depending on your hair texture, there are a variety of ways to go about growing out your hair. For all hair types, I suggest getting your ends trimmed every eleven to twelve weeks in order to keep hair looking healthy and tidy during this tedious process.
There are also numerous styling aids that can help you achieve a more contemporary look. Gels, mousses and pomades are very helpful for controlling and sculpting hair. I’ve been growing my hair from a short crop and have been controlling my curls with equal parts Davines pomade #13 and Davines Invisible Paste. This keeps my hair shiny and in control. For finer hair, apply mousse or light gel near the roots of the hair to create volume.
Hair accessories can also help to create a more stylish, polished look. Headbands, hairclips and hair combs can be used to sweep hair into more desirable positions during the awkward stages of hair growth. I recommend checking out the online sites for Barney’s and Henri Bendel’s to find beautiful hair accessories. Proper use of styling products and accessories can make the transition from short to long hair practically painless. Enjoy!
