Winter Beauty

With autumn nearing its end and winter approaching the days become shorter and colder, our makeup needs change. This winter’s fashion is all about lady-like elegance. You have to use a different makeup strategy No more bronzers or pastel colors.  What’s more refreshing and modern than giving Winter it’s own signature face?

Ballerina hair buns and pop -up lips the right way to feel classy and Glamorous. This season demands a bold red lip from brick red, burgundy or my own personal favorite- Ruby Woo by MAC. So put away old habits, bundle up and stay beautiful.

Beauty Tips -I LOVE HAIR

As we approach winter it would be great to get a start on tackling dry scalp and hair. While its a time to feast on the many dishes prepared in a kitchen with love. Lets love our hair with some of these ingredients this winter

  • 1. Rinse scalp with organic apple cider vinegar

  •  2. Cleanse hair with mixture of baking soda and water.
Typically 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 1 cup of water.

  •  3. Use extract from Aloe Vera plant to moisturize hair

Just incase you’ve been living under a rock… -I LOVE HAIR

The new iPhone 5 was released a couple of weeks ago and has already topped the 5 million mark for sales. I happened to receive the new iPhone 5 as an early birthday present and i am completely blown away. iPhone 5 is 4.87 inches in height and only weighs 3.95 ounces . A good difference in what i now refer to my old dinosaur of a phone, the iphone 4 . The number one thing i am most pleased with is the feel of the phone. With so many hybrids of phone and pad on the market i was very afraid or wouldn’t  feel like a phone. After all an iPhone is a phone and an iPad is a pad. It fits as comfortably in one hand and can easily be navigated while holding on for dear life on the subway.

The one unexpected pleasure of my little bundle of love , is the new ear pods. I have to admit that i have walked around with massive beats headphone , but after a while they do get bulky and it is very hard to find an amazing sound quality headphone in such a small package. The new modern shape it fits so comfortably in the ear . All things considered the new iphone isn’t just about luxury, to me it feels comfortable. And has already become a staple of my day. Sad to say that ipad is taking a break… But for now the phone 5 is definitely a my favorite gift of the year !

Raising Eyebrows BY: Rogar Garcia I LOVE HAIR

Raising Eyebrows!

Most recently while reading about current fads that have women buzzing.  I ran into an article that stated that due to new developments women will now be able to have an elective eyebrow replacement surgery.  Having been blessed with an amazing brow shape I barely tampered with waxing and tweezing in the 90’s.  But it seems some people may have overdone it to the point that they have barely there brows.
Up until recently there were few options to achieve a fuller looker brow.  The most cost effective and flattering way was to purchase an amazing brow pencil and slightly shading in, some of my personal favs are from the Armani and Nars collections.
I have to say that I have grown very fond of the thicker brow, I personally had a bad experience and vowed to never wax again.  But while in LA for my cousins wedding I decided I needed something to be done .. The wedding is outdoors and I can’t bring myself to see a photograph which suggests and unshaped brow.
I decided to have them threaded, and I must admit it was the best thing I could’ve done while out here.  Threading is an Indian an middle eastern form or hair removal which is done by a basic thread two hands and a persons mouth.  I was kinda grossed out by it myself for quite some time but if done by an experienced person I’m sure professionalism and good sanitizing is promised.
The results are amazing you basically get a crisper and cleaner brow line.  The number one benefit of threading is that it promises to last longer than primitive waxing because of the precision and accurate hair removal from the follicle.  The downside is that it is pretty painful,  if you are used to having lip and brows done bi weekly you should be fine. – I LOVE HAIR
